JLA: Black Baptism
The Sopranos hit the DC universe and start to disable magicians...
You've got these Sopranos rip-offs, right, but they are all demons/devils/what have you, so they call themselves the
Diablos. They were all really pissed off in the Day of Judgment miniseries last year that so many of them were killed/vanquished/whatever, so now they are hitting back by gradually wiping out magic-wielding characters in the DC Universe. The Diablos are being directed by some as yet unknown force, their field leader is a succubus called Anita Soulfeeda (yes, well...) and just as she is about the steal the soul force from Zatanna, Supes and Plastic Man arrive to, er, save the day.
Strangely enough, the Diablos then leave. There's only two of the JLA present, they have weapons that can bring down even
! Superman(he gets shot as the Diablos flee), frankly they could've sorted out Supes and Plas very quickly, and rushed Zatanna off elsewhere to finish off ripping her soul out. Villains really are a stupid bunch these days.
