Mysteriously marooned in an unnamed ocean, a man named Ishmael is rescued by pirates and sold into slavery. His past is a blank. Equipped only with courage, a talent for action heroics and the inspiration of a half-remembered love, he must flirt with the sinister tentacles of Hydracorp to win his freedom. To those that lived in the age of heroes, this would be the future. To those that live here, there is no future. For life is a zombied existence spent toiling in factories and huddled in rations lines -- all under the heel of the mechanical enforcers known as the Bio-Technic Law. That is, until the old man with the crutch emerges from the shadows, choosing mere boys to unearth a forgotten legacy. A power buried for untold years . . . in the Graveyard of Heroes. Enter Johnny Stomp. The Second Story Kid. And Rags Murphy, Man of the Cloth. Together, they will fill the shoes of the greatest heroes to ever walk the earth.

When a governmental research group receives an electronic message from space, the U.S. becomes the first player in intergalactic communications. The second message carries with it an experimental genetic code intended to create the ultimate communications link: a hybrid lifeform utilizing human and alien DNA. The experiment succeeds, and the result is a seemingly normal twelve-year-old girl. But when she starts to change into something more than human, when she appears to be more a threat than a messenger, the U.S. government orders her termination. She quickly learns one of life's little lessons: In a hostile environment, you can adapt... or you can die.

They thought Sil was dead. They swept the Los Angeles sewers clean and dismantled the lab where she was "born." They thought the alien threat to humanity was over. They were wrong. Now we will pay. Following the events of MGM's blockbuster sci-fi motion picture comes an all-new story of an alien species determined to populate the earth.

Loosely adapted from REH's "The Temple of Abomination", "Tigers of the Sea", "Night of the Wolf" and "Swords of the Northern Sea".

The son of a murdered king of late 5th century Eirrin (Ireland), Cormac Mac Art is forced, while still a youth, into a grim exile from the land of his birth and the woman of his heart. He makes a life and name for himself with his wits, his strength, and his deadly sword. In time the young Gael becomes the right-hand man of Wulfhere the Skull-Splitter, a Danish pirate who raids the sea lanes in that dark age when a fallen Rome has left the British Isles to their own devices - and when a war-chief named Arthus strives to make himself king of a bitterly divided Britain.

The Nevermen is an inventive new crime and technology series, bringing film-noir suspense and action to a gangland of absurd but frightening characters in Nowhere, America.

Writer Phil Amara -- who is also the editor of a popular but eclectic collection of Dark Horse titles including SpyBoy, Sock Monkey, and Aliens Vs. Predator Vs. The Terminator -- teamed up with artist Guy Davis (Sandman Mystery Theater) after hiring him to work on a new Terminator series for Dark Horse. Inspired by Davis' original and masterful contrivances, Amara proposed that they work together on an original series for Dark Horse, capitalizing on their shared mistrust of technological dependency and an equally strong affection for classic crime comics and sci-fi psychodrama.

Quote: After saving Midnight City from the twisted machinations of mutant villains, the Nevermen return to their lives as everyday citizens, unaware that an even greater threat stirs far below the city streets. He calls himself Winterbone, and he has something catastrophic in store for the city's goggled gangbusters. To end Winterbone's icy reign of terror, our Nevermen have got to find out who this creep is and how he knows so much about their past. But they ain't going to like what they find out. Streets of Blood, the follow-up to last year's critically acclaimed, existential thriller, answers questions and reveals secrets about the enigmatic protectors of the innocent. Guy Davis and Phil Amara continue to delight both fans and critics as the bizarre origins of the Nevermen and the strange menagerie of creatures that populate Midnight City unfold.

Quote: Virus is a Dark Horse Comics comic book, written by Chuck Pfarrer, drawn by Canadian artist Howard Cobb and published in 1995. The story is about an alien life form which takes over a Chinese research vessel and reconfigures it -- using both the damaged electronics and the dead bodies of the crew, it propagates itself by making various "creatures" created out of both organic and inorganic parts. When a salvage ship shows up they have to deal with the life form or be taken over as well.

Pfarrer said in an interview that when he wrote the original story in the early 1990s, the special effects wouldn't have been possible, so he sold the script to Dark Horse as a comic. It was later filmed (in 1999) as Virus.

One of the biggest motion pictures events of all time explodes off the comics page in this epic adaptation of Peter Jackson's King Kong!

Director Carl Denham has one chance to make the film of his dreams--hire an unknown actress, kidnap his writer, and board a tramp freighter for the mysterious Island of the Skull. But when hostile natives capture actress Ann Darrow, Denham and his crew will face horrors from giant spiders to bloodthirsty dinosaurs to get her back. Yet, nothing can prepare them for the revelation of the mighty wonder in whose clutches Ann truly remains--King Kong!
