I’m getting ready for YCC Yahoo Bot Maker 2.0.1 which corrects a few bugs in the 2.0.0 version and I would appreciate your input. Below is the list that I have so far.

The 0xc0000135 error always means that .NET is not installed. YCC Yahoo Bot Maker uses Microsoft .NET 2.0 but of course any version higher will also work. I am always surprised by how many people get this error because .NET has been pushed by Microsoft since around 2001. .NET is installed on Windows Vista by default and shows up in Windows Update under optional components for all versions of Windows. If you have never seen the Windows Update page then you have some serious problems and need to get those updates.
I also know that in the *NIX community there is MONO that is able to run most native Windows .NET applications but I haven’t tried it for YCC Yahoo Bot Maker. P.S. Let me know if there is a programmatic way to change this message so my users will not be confused. It looks like the Microsoft error message should say “You need to have .NET installed” but as you can see it doesn’t. |

It looks like Yahoo! has changed their servers once again and broken YCC Yahoo! Bot Maker 2.0. I have released an emergency build (2.0.1) at [Only registered users can see links. ]. This will not be the finial because I plan to release 2.1.0 sometime next week with added domains, some bug fixes, and removal of regional servers. The changes include acquiring the proper CAPTCHA image and updating the POST back to the registration server. More discussion can be found at [Only registered users can see links. ].
Another change that I haven’t seen discussed is that Yahoo! has removed all regional servers and replaced them with a central server located at [Only registered users can see links. ]. This means that you will no longer be able to jump to the Europe or India server to get additional names made and all names count toward the overall ban (999 error) limit. This may be the end to an era of creating 30+ accounts from a single IP. I feel that this is a move long overdue from Yahoo! ![]() ![]() My apologies to the moderators for not posting multiple links but I am back to coding right after I post this and I hope this release will be updated soon anyway. |
