Hi and welcome to this effective guide on how to get max speeds while downloading from Rapidshare.com!

You will need:
* IDM - I am using version 5.12 however this guide will work for most versions
* Preferably Mozilla Firefox (Opera and others should work too)
* A Premium Rapidshare account (See the very bottom for Free Users)
* 5 Minutes of your time

Ok, lets start with the basics:

Step 1

Download IDM:

[Only registered users can see links. ]

Once you have installed and patched your copy you're ready to go!

Open up IDM from the taskbar:

The majority of this tutorial is going to be based aroud the Options menu so remember this part



Step 5

Now, the first tab named "General" shows your browser integration - as you can see IDM automatically sets Mozilla and IE to be integrated after installation however if they aren't, check the boxes. The same applies if you are using Opera or another browser listed.



Step 6

You will notice that once you have successfully integrated your browser and restarted it you will come across some more options when you right click - we will come back to this later



Step 7

In order for IDM to work with Rapidshare correctly, it is vital that you set your downloads in your premium account to "direct" Otherwise you will find yourself downloading 3kb files Go to:

Next click "Premium Zone" and enter your details:



Followed by:



Step 8

Now that you are correctly logged into your account select "Options"



Once on this page make sure the direct downloads box is checked:



Step 9

Go back to IDM and again, click Downloads, then Options. Once there select the "Site Logins" tab:



Step 10

Click "New" and enter your Rapidshare details as follows:



Now you're ready to go, lets try it out. Find any rapidshare link highlight, right click, and select "Download with IDM" like this:

You can do this for any link you want however if you want to download multiple links at the same time there is a quicker way For example, I want to download this set of links here:



It would be a bit tedious to select each link individually so you can simply highlight more than one and download like you would just one link. You will notice a second window appears too

Notice that you need to check all the tick boxes to make sure the files are downloaded, then click "ok." This will add all the downloads to your list:



This is the end of the main tutorial however here are some further functions of IDM

Using the Scheduler

You may have noticed while using IDM the Scheduler button:



You can use this function for many things. For example, say I had 20 links to download however I wanted only 5 to download at the same time I could make this work:



You can also set your PC to turn off after finishing a download:



Using IDM to download from Rapidshare as a Free User

Many people claim that you can only use IDM with Rapidshare if you have a premium account however this is incorrect.

Step 1

Make sure you have follwed Steps 1-6 of the main Tutorial - Browser Integration again is vital for this to work.

Step 2

Make sure IDM has been set to intercept certain filetypes. You can set IDM to intercept any file ending however the most common in Warez are .rar files. IDM should be automatically set to intercept them however make sure



Step 3

Now proceed with the download like normal:



Wait the time:



Enter the Captcha code and click "Download":



Now check IDM, notice your download is there



Remember you can't pause and resume your download if you are downloading as a free user. Doing so will result in you being unable to complete the download.

thanks, but i think you should put the name of the topic like "How to download from rapidshare with IDM" ..... This topic name make me think s.o share their exp to optimize the speed of download when you using IDM to download from rapidshare

Was using IDM for years, but today Rapida has new look and IDM is not working

I think sugestions by "Sare" will help, I never used it the right way, but it was working. Now will setup the right way. Thanks Sare

If sometimes you get power shorteg (ones in a blue moon) you will have to redownload the files which were downloaded at the time, so I keep "download files at the same time" 3 at the time.

I am really confused what can I do when I dont have any premium account in Rapidshare.... Bro could u tell me is it working for free user properly??? ...peace
