Who's interested anyone?

My reasons for stopping development are as follows.

1. Y!mLite has had a good run, it's been around 6 years I don't want to be deepthawt's age of 53
and still developing a client.

2. Yahoo's encrypted their latest voice/cam active x dlls which means 3rd party clients can't use the
latest dlls yahoo have, they don't interface properly, and only the new dlls work in vista, so until
someone works out how to use the new dlls properly people are forced to use the old dlls which are
vulnerable to an activex exploit which would allow a person to gain access to your computer via cam.

3. It's been about 4 years now and still no change in authentication, i got a feeling it's coming up soon which will render all chat clients dead.

4. I'd prefer to continue my other projects, Y!mLite is using up too much of my time, when i started writing y!mlite 6 years ago A. only 3 clients existed, ychat (eric) cheeta and yahelite, yahelite was a rip off of cheeta anyway lol, cheeta refused to login and i never liked ychat, i used yahelite for a while but deepthawt told me to shut up when i made him suggestions like "add smileys" he refused to add smileys or anything i suggested so i thought id' be able to write my own client and add my own smileys, sure enough a month after ymlite got smileys they appeared in yahelite. when Deepthawt stopped development y!mlite is the reason why he began again.

as a result, i'd prefer to put my effort into Sparta, ButtonBar, sorting out voice, creating my little antispyware program, a program that runs as a service and monitors all the programs in your startup only allowing the programs you wish to run thus freeing up resources, i also have a "magic desktop" application in mind which allows you to animate the desktop play videos and automatically change wallpaper (fun tool) i also have "ileftmypcon" allowing you to remote shut down your machine, this was destroyed when the website was taken down.

5. a lot of work to do on the website again.

6. As long as Y!mLite exists, the yahelite sheep will continue to look for exploits to try and take it out, i felt devastated to find out that some yahelite prick had managed to infect innocent users with yahelite.

Y!mLite's over yes unless someone wants to continue it.

But it appears Super Booter makes the kiddies who took the website out even more upset, i guess that means Super Booter V3 is going to have to be released.

sooner or later all chat clients will be dead :| lol so everybody will be vulnerable to booting hehehe... naah i think they will also comeup with the client that can run the new dll format ... peace !!!

what?? ..cj is giving up on ymite ...saddness for us bro coz it is the only no cost third party chatclient that's really worthit atleast in my own point of view ..

it's got an uncertain future and to be perfectly honest, all i got was **** for writing y!mlite, people constantly bashing me, telling me it's a trojan, 6 years i put up with crap like that everytime i went into a room, you can't just be a normal chat user if you write a client, you have to sit and listen to crap just because they prefer a different chat client.

now writing a booter, yeah so what if a few people don't like me, when writing a client, we're not talking about a few, but a LOT of people don't like me, so by writing a booter, i got a lot more respect from people something you don't get writing a chat client.

I've had so many more compliments and nice things said to me about sparta, button bar, decent booter / super booter and the other stuff written than i've EVER had from y!mlite just because people know the second they don't like 1 tiny little thing, they don't need to ask for it they just use a different chat client it's all too easy with the exception of a handful of y!mlite users, the rest of them were not worth the hassle.

people "demand" for things, it's a free service i don't mind helping long terms users i don't mind helping people out who are new, but i lost count of how many hours wasted showing people how to use it to have them the next week go "oh but now i'm using yahelite because some moron over there uses it"

it's not worth the aggravation, the website being taken down was just a catalyst (to speed things up) i had enough anyway, i don't want to be deepthawt's age of 62 or whatever the dinosaur is to be writing a god damn chat client

finding exploits and writing a booter takes 2 days and it's done, a chat client is never done and it takes literally years to get one going properly, look at how simplistic yahoo messenger is for chat.

Hey bro..its not the end of the world...dont be so down about this .you have to expect this from people who are nothing but selfish and greedy. always wanting something for nothing and never ever one thank you for all your hard work. People will miss ymlite . god bless you

i'm happy not down, i'm just explaining why y!mlite's over it's got nothing to do with the fact the site was hacked, i could have moved hosts and simply re-uploaded ymlite had it all working for people to download within 48 hours, i decided not to because i think after 6 years, y!mlite's ran its course and i think it's over and done with....

i have to be realistic here, how many years does one spend on a program that completely relies on yahoo, if yahoo stops chat ymlite stops, then i'm left wondering why i wasted 7/8/9/10?!?!? years of my life, with Sparta and everything else, it stops when i decide it stops it's in my control.

Seriously, 6 years was WWWAAAAAYYYYYY longer than i thought it would run for, i thought it would go for 4 years at most and that's when i stopped i just got talked into continuing it again, well not this time, it can go down in the history books.
